Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation Awards $100,000 Grant to Overlook Foundation for Advanced MRI Biopsy Machine

Summit, NJ – October 24, 2025 — In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation (CDBCF) proudly announced a $100,000 grant to The Overlook Foundation to fund the acquisition of a new, state-of-the-art MRI-guided breast biopsy system for Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center.

The donation was made possible through funds raised at the foundation’s annual Embrace Hope Gala, held at the Beacon Hill Club in Summit, NJ. The event brought together community members, donors, and supporters to raise awareness and critical funds for women’s breast health in New Jersey.

“This new MRI-guided biopsy machine will bring the most advanced diagnostic technology closer to home,” said founder Connie Dwyer. “It will allow physicians to detect breast cancer earlier and with greater precision—helping women receive faster, more accurate care when it matters most.”

This year, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to fund this important initiative at Overlook Medical Center—expanding access to advanced breast imaging and diagnostics.

We are proud to continue supporting our Community Grants Program, which provides essential funding to local organizations across New Jersey that offer free or low-cost breast screenings, treatment, and support services to underserved women.

Through these combined initiatives, the Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation now helps at least 10,000 women each month gain access to screenings, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up care, and support—ensuring that every woman in New Jersey has access to the breast health care she deserves.

“On behalf of the entire Overlook Medical Center team I share our deepest appreciation to the Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation for their generous support,” said Stephanie Schwartz, President, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center and SVP, Atlantic Health. “Investments in innovative technology like this biopsy system will ensure our team remains at the leading edge of quality care for every patient.”

For more than 20 years, the Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation has worked tirelessly to remove barriers to breast health care by funding breast centers, mobile mammography unit, and the community grants program that reach thousands of women each year across New Jersey.
